What is a Warrant Canary?
A warrant canary is a transparency mechanism that allows an organization to indirectly communicate that it has not been served with a secret government order. Certain legal instruments — such as National Security Letters and FISA court orders — may prohibit recipients from disclosing their existence. While a company cannot announce that it has received such an order, the absence or non-renewal of a previously published canary may serve as a signal.
Temporal Anchor (Proof of Freshness)
Each signed canary statement includes a current news headline from Reuters.com at the time of signing. This proves the statement was authored on the claimed date and was not pre-signed in advance.

This canary is published in the following locations. If any source diverges, the canary should be considered compromised.

Update History
- March 18, 2026 — Initial canary published. All clear. 10 affirmations. Ed25519 key registered.
Limitations
A warrant canary is not a legally tested mechanism and its enforceability remains uncertain under US law. No court has definitively ruled on whether the removal or non-renewal of a canary constitutes protected speech. This canary is provided as a good-faith transparency measure and should not be construed as legal advice or a guarantee of any kind.
